On July 8th 2022 I submitted a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) Request to the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) Requesting the following…
“‘Under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) I am requesting all information that your police force hold in relation to Unidentified Flying Object (UFO)/Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sightings for the period from May 2019 to the present-day year 2022. This includes all correspondence made by members of the public or employees/officers of your police force mentioning UFOs, UAPS, lights in the sky, aliens or extra-terrestrial beings. I request this information should include the date, time, location and the description given by the reporting person, if possible, for each incident.”
After some time, the request was declined due to the amount of data that would need to be searched and with a budget of £450 set by the UK Government this would not be feasible.
In working with the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) They could confirm a resubmission for the same request albeit changes to the dates requested maybe acceptable.
On August 8th 2022 the Police Service of Northern Ireland provided the relevant / requested data
In conclusion 27 cases across Northern Ireland had been reported to the Police Service.
